About Me

Welcome to the Yukon! Though I am sadly unable to join the river trip, I look forward to meeting you all in Whitehorse.

I am about to submit a thesis entitled 'Back to the land, on skis: Northern Aboriginal youth perspectives on outdoor recreation'. I worked with three inspiring youth on a case study of the Kwanlin Koyote Ski Program, using Indigenous Methodologies and interviews while skiing... So by the time the colloqium begins, I hope I'll have under my belt a Master i Friluftsliv (Outdoor Life/Nature/Culture) from the University of Copenhagen!

My work: wildlife biology, culture, recreation, interpretive planning, communications, education, and outreach for Yukon Government's Parks Branch, in collaboration with Yukon First Nations and Inuvialuit governments, and various community organisations.

Or you can find me out hiking, harvesting, canoeing, coaching cross-country skiing or sharing music around a campfire in the Yukon where I grew up.

Other education: B.Sc. Biology, Minor in Environmental Studies, University of Alaska Anchorage.
